One More Night is the update to my first book on Dylan’s Never Ending Tour, Razor’s Edge which came out in 2001 and covered up to the middle of 2000.  As with the first book, One More Night is a mixture of an overview of the Never Ending Tour as it progresses and its place in Dylan’s career while simultaneously tracing the story of what it has been like for a fan following it through the decades.

The book concerns itself with what Dylan first christened, and we fans still call, the Never Ending Tour (or N.E.T.), which began on 7th June 1988 at the Concord Pavilion, Concord, California and is still going strong as I type this in the year 2013: over 2,500 shows later.

My aim is to put the vast and unwieldy N.E.T. into some kind of perspective: to examine its importance in the context of Dylan’s overall career; and to chronicle the comparisons and contrasts between each individual leg of the tour. But this book isn’t just about the N.E.T. as a lengthy episode in the life of Bob Dylan. The Never Ending Tour has also become a phenomenon in my life - the life of a fan who has travelled to a substantial number of these shows over the years and who has listened to tapes (or watched video footage) of many of the others.
